Baked Fried Rice Recipe | Easy and Healthy One Pan Fried Rice

Baked Fried Rice is a super delicious and flavorful dish with crispy and crunchy bits of rice and veggies making it taste like a perfect restaurant style food for your lunch or dinner. This rice recipe is vegan and gluten free.

Equipment

  • 1 Baking pan or Sheet Pan or Casserole Dish

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati rice / any long grain rice
  • 3 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon Crushed garlic
  • cup Green beans chopped
  • cup Green peas
  • cup Sweet corn
  • 2 Carrots finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Spring onions / Green onions chopped
  • 8 florets Broccoli
  • 3 cups Water (broth of your choice can be used instead)
  • 1 Bouilion / Maggi cube optional
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Hot sauce of your choice
  • 4 tablespoon Tomato ketchup or sauce
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

Step I

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degree F.
  • Add rice in large baking dish or casserole. Drizzle cooking oil and toss so that every single grain of rice is coated in oil. Add garlic, green peas, corn, carrots, spring onions, broccoli, salt to taste, and stir to combine
    2 cups Basmati rice / any long grain rice, 3 tablespoon Cooking oil, 1 tablespoon Crushed garlic, ⅓ cup Green beans chopped, ⅓ cup Green peas, ⅓ cup Sweet corn, 2 Carrots finely chopped, ¼ cup Spring onions / Green onions chopped, 8 florets Broccoli

Step II

  • In a pan over high heat, bring water along with bouillon or broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, hot sauce, and ketchup to boil. Pour on top of rice and stir it.
    3 cups Water, 1 Bouilion / Maggi cube, 1 tablespoon Soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 2 tablespoon Hot sauce of your choice, 4 tablespoon Tomato ketchup or sauce, Salt, to taste
  • Cover the casserole or dish with lid or aluminium foil.
  • Bake this in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove the lid or foil and let it stand for 10 minutes.
  • Now fluff the rice using fork, taste and adjust with salt and seasoning accordingly. You are free to serve at this point.

Step III

  • Increase the oven temperature to 475 degree F and cook for another 10 minutes until the rice is browned on top OR put the oven under broiler mode and place the cooked rice for few minutes to brown the top.
  • Baked Fried Rice is ready. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Feel free to add diced ham, turkey, chicken or shrimp. 
  • Vegetarian can even add your favorite veggies like green bell peppers (capsicum), green beans, babycorn, paneer or even mushroom. 
  • This recipe will work no matter what you add in. Make sure you use long grain rice and all other ingredients are finely chopped so that it get cooked easily. 
  • Depending on the size of the pan, the baking time may vary. 
  • I use Canola oil in my recipes. You can even add or combine seasame oil, vegetable oil or olive oil. 
  • I have used Sriracha chili sauce, feel free to add any hot sauce of your choice. 
  • vary the amount of sauces as per your taste.
