Vrat Wale Paneer Curry | No Onion No Garlic Paneer Masala (Sabzi)

Ingredients

FOR GROUND MASALA

  • 8 to 10 Cashews, broken
  • 1 tablespoon  Ginger
  • 2 to 3 Green chilies (adjust to taste)
  • 3 Red chilies (for color)
  • 3 Tomatoes, medium-sized, chopped

FOR THE PANEER CURRY

  • 2 tablespoon  Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds or Jeera
  • 200 grams  Paneer
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander leaves or cilantro chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

PREPARE THE MASALA

  • Add cashews, ginger, green chilies, red chilies, tomato, and grind it to a smooth paste in a blender or mixer. Check the video for consistency. I have not added any water.
    8 to 10 Cashews, broken, 1 tablespoon  Ginger, 2 to 3 Green chilies (adjust to taste), 3 Red chilies (for color), 3 Tomatoes, medium-sized, chopped

MAKING OF PANEER MASALA

  • In a pan on medium heat, add oil. Once the oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and saute for few seconds. Add the ground masala, bring it to a boil, and simmer it for 5 minutes or until oil releases. You may add little water to adjust the consistency only if required.
    2 tablespoon  Oil, 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds or Jeera
  • To this, add paneer cubes, salt and continue to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
    200 grams  Paneer, Salt, to taste
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves and switch off the flame. It is super easy, right? Try this out today, and do share your comments.

INSTANT POT NO-ONION NO-GARLIC PANEER CURRY OR PANEER MASALA

  • Prepare the ground masala as given above.
  • Press the SAUTE button. Add oil. Once hot, add cumin seeds and saute for few seconds. To this, add ground masala along with ½ cup of water and mix.
  • Close the IP lid with the valve to the sealing position. Use manual setting or Pressure cook on high for 5 minutes and quick release.
  • Press the SAUTE button, add paneer cubes, cilantro and cook for 2 more minutes, and your vrat wale paneer curry is ready.

Notes

  • I have not used butter and made it using oil. You can also make a PANEER BUTTER MASALA version by adding butter instead of oil.

  • You can also use store-bought tomato puree or paste if needed.
  • The cashews that I have added were sufficient to make my dish rich and creamy. You can substitute it with heavy cream, watermelon seeds, or almonds.
  • I have used store-bought paneer today. You can even make it at home following the recipe on how to make cottage cheese or paneer at home.
  • Do not overcook the paneer once you have added it to the dish. It will only make it more rubbery and chewy.
