Equipment

  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Plate or sheet or Parchement paper

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Roasted sesame seeds
  • ½ cup Roasted peanuts
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Grease a square plate or baking pan with butter or oil and keep it aside. You can also use parchment paper.
  • I have used roasted peanuts and sesame seeds in my recipe. If you do not have roasted peanuts or til, make sure you roast them separately on a medium flame for about 4 to 5 minutes till you get a nice aroma.
½ cup Roasted sesame seeds, ½ cup Roasted peanuts
  • In a heavy bottom pan on medium heat, add honey, lemon juice, and sugar, bring it to a simmer and wait till it develops light golden (amber) color. This will take about 4 - 6 minutes. Do not add any water while making syrup. Stir only if needed. Stirring continuously or vigorously can result in the crystallization of sugar.
2 tablespoon Honey, 1 teaspoon Lemon juice, ½ cup Sugar
  • Immediately add sesame seeds, peanuts, and salt and stir quickly.
    ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • Transfer this to a greased plate and, using a greased rolling pin, spread out the mixture to desired thickness (about 1 cm thick).
  • Let it cool down for about 5 minutes, and then using a greased knife, cut them into bars of desired shape and size. Doing so at this stage ensures that you get clean cuts.
  • Let it cool completely. Then store them in an airtight container.
