Now add water little by little and knead to form a smooth and medium soft dough.

How to cook the skillet bread (roti)?
Heat a non-stick pan or cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat.
Cook each flatbread till you see some golden spots, approximately 1-2 minutes on each side. You may apply oil or butter when cooking if needed.
Oil for cooking bread
Transfer it to the plate and cover it with a kitchen towel to keep it warm and soft.
Repeat for remaining flatbreads.
Serve with any gravy or curry of your choice and enjoy.
- Yogurt makes your bread soft. If you do not like it, skip it.
- Always cook the bread on a medium-high flame, and when done, transfer it to the plate and cover it with a warm towel. This ensures that the bread remains soft for a longer time.
- Add herbs like parsley, cilantro, mint, basil, dill or rosemary to enhance the flavor.
- Fresh garlic can be substituted with garlic powder.
- Instead of butter, garlic butter or garlic oil can also be used to make the bread dough.
- You can make this bread only with regular flour or whole wheat flour or combine the two with a 1:1 ratio. The flavor and texture in all 3 cases will be different but good.
