Equipment

Ingredients

For Asian chicken wings marinade

  • 14 to 16 Chicken wings (750g)
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Corn flour (cornstarch)
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder

For the sweet, spicy and sticky sauce

  • 3 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Green chilies (optional, Add more if you like it spicy)
  • ½ cup Red hot sauce or chile sauce like Franks
  • 2 to 3 tablespoon Chilli garlic sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Red chile powder (Cayenne powder) optional
  • 2 tablespoon Brown sugar or Jaggery
  • 2 teaspoon Dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander leaves or Cilantro chopped

Instructions

Asian chicken wings marinade

  • In a bowl, add chicken wings, salt, corn flour, and baking powder and toss until combined. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour for best results. You can even keep it overnight.
14 to 16 Chicken wings (750g), 1 ½ teaspoon Salt, 2 teaspoon Corn flour (cornstarch), 2 teaspoon Baking powder

How long to bake chicken wings at 400?

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Place the marinated chicken wings on a wire rack over the baking sheet and bake it for 40 minutes. Flip all the wings after the first 20 minutes of bake time.

How to make Asian sauce for chicken wings?

  • Melt butter in a pan. Add green chilies and saute for few seconds. Next add hot sauce, chilli sauce, chile powder, brown sugar, and soy sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
3 tablespoon Butter, 1 Green chilies, ½ cup Red hot sauce, 2 to 3 tablespoon Chilli garlic sauce, ½ teaspoon Red chile powder (Cayenne powder), 2 tablespoon Brown sugar or Jaggery, 2 teaspoon Dark soy sauce
  • Add cilantro and mix. Switch off the flame. I generally prepare more sauce than needed as we love our wings to be saucy. You can also dip your veggies or serve it even with the main course or simply store it and make another batch of wings if desired.
2 tablespoon Coriander leaves or Cilantro

Toss before serving

  • In a bowl, add half of the prepared sauce. To this, add all the baked chicken wings. Add more sauce over the wings if you like them saucy and spicy. Toss until everything is combined.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chile sauce and garlic sauce to your liking. Instead of chilli garlic sauce, you can even use tomato ketchup with some chile powder and garlic powder.
  • Adjust the sweetness and spiciness to your liking.
  • Add sauce as needed to the baked wings and toss. Leftover sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
