Expert Chef Tips
- Granola or Muesli can be added to the crumb topping instead of old-fashioned rolled oats for additional crunch and flavor.
- Do not skip adding flour to the strawberry mixture. When baked, strawberries will release a lot of liquid which will be absorbed and thickened by the flour. The absence of flour will result in a watery base and make it difficult to serve.
- Use any seasonal fruits of your choice. I have tried this recipe with different berries, apples, peaches, plums, rhubarb, etc.
Storage
- Store any leftover strawberry crumble in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. It can be served cold. However, if you prefer it warm, reheat it in a microwave for 20 to 30 seconds or until just warmed through.
