Mohabbat Ka Sharbat | Summer Rose Watermelon Drink

Mohabbat Ka Sharbat is a refreshing and aromatic drink popular in the Indian city of old Delhi. Its floral and fruity flavor comes from rose syrup and watermelon cubes. This pretty pink drink is made using 3 ingredients in less than 10 minutes. It is best served during the summer season and festivals like Holi, Ramadan Iftar, and Eid.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Whole milk boiled and chilled 1 litre.
  • ½ cup Rose syrup rooh afza
  • 1 cup Watermelon cubes
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar optional
  • 2 tablespoon Water optional

Preparation

  • Add sugar and hot water in a bowl and mix until sugar dissolves. Keep this aside. (this step and sugar is optional, but doing this way helps the sugar dissolve faster)
    2 tablespoon Sugar, 2 tablespoon Water
  • Cut the watermelon into bite-size pieces.

Rose Watermelon drink

  • Add the rose syrup to a bowl of chilled milk and mix until combined. Taste to check the sweetness.
    4 cups Whole milk, ½ cup Rose syrup
  • Add the sugar syrup only if needed for desired sweetness and mix.
  • Finally, add the watermelon cubes and mix well.
    1 cup Watermelon cubes
  • Pour into serving glasses. Serve chilled, and enjoy.

Notes

  • To make this drink vegan, use any non-dairy milk in the recipe.
  • Adjust all ingredients to taste. If you like mild-sweetened drinks, simply skip the sugar. The sweetness from rose syrup and watermelon cubes is sufficient.
  • Take this drink to the next level with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
  • Feel free to puree and add 1 cup of watermelon juice to this drink if desired.
