Easy Chicken Fry is one of the simplest yet flavorful chicken recipes ready in 20 minutes. The chicken is first marinated and then pan-fried until tender. This chicken dish can be served as an appetizer or side with naan, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, chapati, or steamed rice.

Ingredients

For marination

  • 500 g Chicken pieces thigh/drumstick with bone
  • ¾ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • ¾ teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Cilantro Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Mint Pudina leaves finely chopped
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste Use 2 tablespoon if freshly ground paste is used. For fresh paste, use 1 inch ginger and 5-6 garlic cloves, 2 tablespoon water

Other ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add chicken, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt, coriander, mint, sliced onion, and ginger-garlic paste, and mix well.
    500 g Chicken pieces, ¾ teaspoon Turmeric, 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder, ¾ teaspoon Salt, 2 tablespoon Cilantro, 2 tablespoon Mint, 1 Onion, 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • Let the chicken marinate for 15 minutes (minimum) to 30 minutes (preferred).
  • Heat oil in a pan on medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken and fry for 5 minutes, leaving it undisturbed.

  • After 5 mins, flip the chicken to the other side and continue to fry for another 5 mins.
  • Now, reduce the heat to medium. Stir the chicken, cover, and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the lid, stir the chicken, cover it back, and cook for another 5 mins.
  • Remove the lid, add butter, garnish with cilantro, and give it a final mix.
    1 tablespoon Butter, 1 tablespoon Cilantro
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Instead of garam masala powder, curry powder or kitchen king masala can be used.
  • Adjust the spices to taste.
  • You can prepare this with bone-in or boneless chicken pieces.
