I have to say thanks to all my food blogger friends, dessert and pastry shops, restaurants, and social media for flooding us with so many creative recipe ideas all the time.
I was never a sweet or mithai lover until I got married. So my love for all desserts started only in the United States with cakes, donuts, cheesecake, churros, pies, and on the other hand my husband has always been a big fan of burfis (kaju katli, 7 cup barfi, etc.), Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai, boondi laddu, jalebi -- oh wait!! he loves almost all Indian sweets.
We always have debates on what tastes better or which is easy to cook. It is very tough to decide. And with mangoes in season, my husband wanted a good mango barfi or laddu. However, being a die-hard fan of mango cheesecake from The Cheesecake factory - I wanted to bake a mango cheesecake.
So we decided to combine the two and make a fusion dessert and ended up with these simple and beautiful cheesecake jars.
This no-bake cheesecake recipe is eggless, super simple and you can combine it with any Indian sweet or mithai to make cheesecake jars.
Some of my favorite cheesecake in mason jars that I have tried at home and some from pastry shops include :

How to make No Bake Burfi Cheesecake Jars
- Have your jars ready to go. Four, or 6, or 8 depending on the size of the jars. If you are serving it for a birthday or Diwali party for a larger crowd and just want your guests to be introduced to fusion desserts, then you can also serve it in shot glasses.
Prepare the crust first
- Pulse the biscuits into fine crumbs in your mixer or food processor. To this add 2 tablespoon of melted butter and mix well. The mixture will resemble wet sand.
- Spoon a generous amount, say 2 tbsp, of this mixture into each jar, and using the back of a spoon press it gently. Keep this aside.
Prepare the Cheesecake filling
- Using a stand mixer with a whisk attachment or using a hand mixer, whip the cold cream on medium-high speed for 3-4 minutes till stiff peaks are formed. Keep this aside or in the refrigerator till you are ready to use.
- In a small bowl crumble or cut the burfis into small chunks. Keep this aside.
- In another bowl, using the same hand mixer or stand mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar, yogurt, and vanilla extract on high speed until smooth and creamy.
- Start folding whipped cream into this cream cheese mixture in parts until all combined. You may have to fold it a couple of times. Make sure you do it slowly so that the whipped cream doesn't deflate.
- Using a piping bag or spoon, add the cheesecake mixture on top of the crust - halfway through the jar. Add some burfi chunks. Top with another layer of cheesecake filling and finally top it with a burfi slice and garnish of your choice.
How to serve No-Bake Cheesecake Jars :
Always use wide-mouthed jars for such recipes so you can easily add each layer.
- Use any mason glass jars of desired size ( 4oz, 6 oz, or 8 oz)
- For small individual servings, you can serve it in shot glasses.
- Feel free to use even a trifle bowl or any dessert cups or bowls.
Is no-bake cheesecake better than baked cheesecake?
In baked cheesecake you add eggs, always worried if you have whipped the egg as needed, and then bake in the water bath and finally chill it in the fridge.
With no-bake cheesecake, you are not adding any eggs, plus no baking is required. There is no way you can go wrong with this dessert.
The texture of both desserts is also completely different. This no-bake version is more soft and close to mousse-like texture. Anyways both taste delicious in their own way.
Can I store leftover cheesecake?
Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
