    Ciabatta is a classic Italian bread known for its crispy crust and chewy interior. It holds fillings without making the bread soggy, making it one of the best breads for a gourmet sandwich.

    Ingredients

    Ciabatta rolls: homemade rolls or large ciabatta store-bought bread.

    Greens: Mixed greens, or lettuce, spinach, or arugula, or a combination of your choice.

    Tomatoes: Freshly chopped.

    Cucumber: For crisp texture.

    Mozzarella: Fresh, sliced preferred.

    Basil pesto: Enhances the flavor.

    How to make a ciabatta sandwich?

    • In a bowl, add lettuce or any greens of your choice, salt and pepper to taste, drizzle olive oil, and toss to combine.
    • Slice each ciabatta roll in half. You can toast the bread if desired.
    • Spread 1 tablespoon of basil pesto inside the top half of each roll.
    • On the bottom half layer, in this order: Lettuce, cheese slices, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and some more lettuce.
    • Place the pesto-coated top bun over the filling and gently press it down. Secure with a toothpick if desired.

    • Instead of mozzarella, provolone can also be used.
