Which mangoes to use for mango mastani?

Fresh ripe sweet mangoes like alphonso (hapus) tastes the best. But I agree these are expensive but worth a try.  Feel free to use any other sweet mangoes like badami, kesar, dasheri, chausa, himsagar, mundappa, neelam, raspuri, malgoa, mallika, etc . Honestly speaking nothing can beat the taste of fresh mangoes from the summer season. But if you want to do this drink for a special occasion, birthday parties, romantic dates, Diwali, or during fasting (vrat or upvas) days, you can use frozen mangoes or canned mango pulp or puree.

Use dairy-free milk like soy, almond, oat, coconut, or cashew and non-dairy ice cream.

Can I make this drink ahead?

Yes, mastani can be made and stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. Just add toppings before you are ready to serve.
