Ingredients
Mangoes: Fresh sweet, and ripe mangoes works the best. But if you have frozen mangoes, use them. Just thaw before using.
Sugar: Sweeten the popsicle. You can use honey or any other sweetener of your choice.
Lemon juice: The sweetness of the mangoes complements very well with the flavor of lemon.
Liquid: Liquid is needed to blend and make a smooth puree. You can use water, coconut water for authentic tropical flavor, or orange juice.
See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
Variations
- If you like a creamy popsicle texture, use coconut milk or yogurt instead of water.
- To make it even more, healthier, you can reduce the sugar. The popsicle will turn hard like ice if the water content is high. So do not forget to add sugar, as it helps prevent this.
- You can add diced mango chunks and mint leaves for additional texture and flavor.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom for a classic summer treat.
- Love mango lassi? Then why not try mango lassi or smoothie popsicles using Greek yogurt, cardamom, and saffron strands?
- You can also add a small piece of ginger while blending to make a mango ginger popsicle.
Step-by-step instructions
Blend
Step 1: Add roughly chopped sweet and ripe mango chunks to a mixer or blender.

Pour and Freeze
Step 5: Pour the puree into the popsicle mold.
Step 6: Keep the popsicle molds in the freezer for 4 to 6 hours, preferably overnight.

Step 7: Dip the bottom of the popsicle mold in warm water for 5 to 10 seconds.
Step 8: Pull out the popsicles from the mold and enjoy.
Mango popsicles with Tajin
Tajin is a seasoning used commonly in Mexican recipes. Using it with fruits and vegetables will only enhance its flavors.
To make a tajin mango popsicle, add around tablespoon of tajin seasoning when blending the mangoes. And even before pouring this puree into molds, sprinkle seasoning into each mold.
Store
Homemade mango popsicles can be stored in the popsicle mold itself or unmolded, wrapped in a nonstick material like wax paper, parchment paper, or plastic wrap, and stored in a freezer bag or container. Homemade fruit popsicles will last in the freezer for up to two months.
