Flavored Tomato Juice is a spicy, tangy and healthy low calorie juice recipe that is definitely worth try.
Tomato juice is high is vitamin C. It also offers other essential nutrients like iron and magnesium. Tomatoes are good for your hair, skin, bones. It also has the fat reducing capacity, anti-inflammatory effect, detoxifies the body and many more. With so many healthy benefits why not try this delicious juice at home.
I have used store bought 100% tomato juice in the recipe and added few of my favorite other ingredients. I have also given few substitutes in the tips section. Try this juice with your favorite spices.
You can also make your own tomato juice at home. In a large pan, add in the tomatoes and bring it to nice boil. Simmer it for 20 to 30 minutes till it becomes tender. Let it cool down. Now blend it to form a smooth paste and strain to discard the seeds. Add in all the other desired ingredients and serve chill.

Ingredients for Flavored Tomato Juice
Tomato juice - 46 Fl Oz  (1.36 L)
Green chilies finely chopped - 2
Ginger thinly sliced - 1 inch
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Peppercorns - 6
Lemon zest - ½ of small lemon
Lemon juice - ½ of small lemon
Coriander leaves / Cilantro chopped - 5 strands
Steps to prepare Flavored Tomato Juice
Step I
- Dry roast the cumin seeds and peppercorns till you get nice aroma.
- Using pestle and mortal powder the roasted spices.
Step II
- In a bowl, add tomato juice, powdered cumin and peppercorn, green chilies, ginger, lemon juice, lemon zest, coriander leaves and mix.
- Transfer it to serving glass, add ice cubes and garnish it with chilies and lemon if desired.
- Flavored Tomato Juice is ready. Serve chill and enjoy.
Tip:
- You can add serrano pepper or jalapeno instead of green chilies. The taste may vary accordingly.
- You can also add basil leaves or mint leaves or a combination of both instead of coriander leaves.
- You can also add cayenne pepper to the recipe.
- To enhance it more, you can also add in green like parsley, spinach.
