This post includes Ganesh Chaturthi Recipes from modak, laddu (ladoo), appe to kheer (payasam), vada, patholi, pathrode and more. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on September 18th, 2023.
|| Wish you all a very Happy Gowri Ganesha Festival ||
This is a very auspicious day that is celebrated thought the country where we pray to Lord Ganesha that all good tasks started this year should be completed without any vignas (obstacles). Lord Ganesha is also called Vigna Vinayaka.
Ganesh Chaturthi Recipes or Vinayaka Chaturthi Naivedyam and Prasadam
The main dishes offered to God in the form of naivedyam on this day are appo (appe or paniyaram), modak, chakli (chakli, murukku), ladoo (laddu), nevri (gujiya, karanja), payasam (kheer) and idli (kotto). This is one festival where you will have to prepare a variety of dishes, and there will be a lot of regional variations to it. I am from the Coastal region, Karnataka state of India. So most of my recipes are influenced by this region.
Modak, Ladoo (Laddu) , Appe (Paniyaram) are the three favorite food of Bhagwan Ganesha. Modak in the coastal region is prepared using banana and fried, which is totally different from Maharashtrian steamed or ukadiche modak made from rice flour.
And also, make sure you check with your family elders and follow the traditions and fasting rules as some regions do not prefer onion garlic recipes, and all the recipes below are no onion, no garlic while others do not eat the regular salt, rice, or wheat flour on fasting or festival days.
To make it easy for all of us, I have listed some of the popular traditional sweets and savory recipes both South Indian and North Indian prepared on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi . Hope this makes your job easier.
Also all these recipes can be prepared for sankashti chaturthi.
I will update this list as and when I share new posts. Thanks
